What Is a Battery Energy Storage System?

- Scale: 278 lithium-ion battery containers, storing enough energy to power about 410,000 homes
- Impact: Nearly doubles Ontario’s clean electricity storage capacity from 225 MW to 475 MW
- Environmental Benefit: Reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 4.1 million tonnes annually—the equivalent of removing 40,000 cars from the road
